Baylor University - Bachelors in Elementary Education Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary - Master's in Christian Education |
As an educator for over thirty years, it has been my great joy to encourage learning in my
students and form partnerships with their parents. I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Baylor University, a master’s degree in Christian Education from Gordon- Conwell Theological Seminary, and Montessori teaching certification from the American Montessori Society. In 2001, I co-founded Salem Montessori School in Winston-Salem, NC, and served as Head of School until retiring from that position in 2019. After receiving certification for course work through the Orton-Gillingham Academy to work with struggling readers, I started a tutoring business, Encourage Learning, and now support students through one-on-one tutoring in reading for all ages and elementary math. I moved to Staunton in 2021 and am thrilled to live in a community with such a rich heritage of history, culture, and education. As an avid hiker, I head to the nearby mountain trails every chance I get. |
