Spiritually, Physically, Academically & Socially
Anna’s House is a non-profit, school and childcare program for children ages 2.5 to 12. We are a religiously exempt facility.
At the beginning of the Pandemic, when Stuart Hall closed down its lower grades (summer of 2020), a group of teachers gathered together to try to open a school that would also be a childcare center to help serve the needs of the children who had lost their school. They reached out to Christi Crittenden, who they knew was working to open a preschool. With the groundwork that she had done, they were able to modify her plan, work together, and with a great deal of persistence and community support, open the school by Labor Day. With the continued news that Stuart Hall was phasing out the rest of its elementary program, Anna’s House is working to transition and accommodate these additional grades, providing a rigorous academic elementary option for the city of Staunton.
Our mission is to assist in caring for each individual’s growth; spiritually, physically, academically, and socially in a nurturing environment. It will seek to foster a love of learning, independence, and self-confidence in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Anna's House was founded on February 15, 2019, and opened on September 8, 2020, to serve the needs of families in Staunton and the surrounding area. In partnership with VSDB, from which we rent facilities, we offer an outstanding educational elementary program for children.
